Just found these pictures from my old blog... I tried experimenting with light and shadows, and I actually think they turned out quite pretty. I just had the ring lying on my table when the sun shone through it - It's funny how coincidences can make something beautiful.

BRACELETS

Personal jewellery will always be my favourite kind, so I got these bracelets made for me (and one for my mom) on etsy a while ago. One has a quote from Alice in Wonderland: "Oh, you can't help that, said the cat. We're all mad here." and one with some personal words in morse code, 'cause I thought it would be great to have something written, that would also just function as a beautiful pattern. This might be very "hipster-ish" (the no-go word of 2013) for some of you guys, but to me, it's perfect. If you wan't one for yourself, just click here.

So, this is for all of you guys out there who love this kind of stuff as much as I do. I will admit it - I have a bit of a freaky side, or at least people tell me so. I love, love, love these kind of things; animals in resin, butterflies and beetles in frames, replicas of skulls, skeletons and bodyparts etc. I don't find it disgusting, quite the opposite, I find natures own creations to be some of the most beautiful and inspiring objects, and I would at any time prefer a poster like this one over one with a band or something like that. So this is a tip for those of you, who also like to own and look at things that apparently creep other people out: 

The Evolution Store. 

Best store, ever. I'm quite sure that most of their buyers are collectors and museums, since a lot of their things are really expensive, but that doesn't mean that they don't have room for us normal people. All of the above should be affordable, although some more than others, but if you don't have the money, you can also just use their website as inspiration. I often go in there, just to get inspired by looking at butterflies and beetles, and sometimes just to learn about creatures or features of the human body, that I didn't really know much about. So all in all, you should go there immediately, if not to buy anything, then just to get inspired. And for those of you, who are a bit freaked out by these kind of things; go there anyway. You might learn something new, or maybe get to see the beauty in some of the things you'd normally avoid.

BOTANIC GARDENS

To sum up on the whole beetle thing, here's my outfit. Found it very fitting for the location, the Botanic Gardens - a place I really love and always find inspiring. Also went to their whale exhibition, which I promise to post about later!

GLITTERING

As winter approaches I feel like wearing more knits with extreme jewellery to pep it up a bit. This one's still one of my favourites - I like that something as simple as a stone can be so beautiful.

JEWELLERY

Took a picture of all of the jewellery I brought with me on vacation... I like organizing my stuff like this when I'm not at home; it gives me a better impression of what I've got with me and how to use it. This is probably also the jewellery I use the most these days - gold, bling and more gold to go with it.

BRACELETS

I love, love, love my new bracelets - especially the one with the eyes. It's just the right amount of crazy, and I actually like it so much that I'm considering buying one more. I'm quite fond of the one with the skulls as well, although I see that a lot of people in the blogger world have also bought it - I usually hate "blogger items", but I guess this piece is simple enough to be an everymans item, without loosing its charm. Which one do you like the most?

THE ARM PARTY

There's quite a lot of different arm parties going on out there right now, and I've been wanting to join the game for a while. My only problem is, I can't really seem to find just the perfect combination of all of my jewellery, so I tried to find some inspiration. My conclusion was this; I like my arm parties to be mostly in metals, mostly gold, and I like the different bracelets to be of almost the same size. I'll probably try out something soon, and share with you guys later. What are your favourite arm parties? The colourful ones, or ones like these?

JEWELLERY

Took this picture for my closet-tour on Carolines blog, and I was quite pleased with it, so I thought I'd post it in here as well. This is only a small part of my jewellery collection, but it's the stuff I use the most right now. Do you like the picture, and which one is the best - colour or black/white?

SKULLS

I'm not pretending to be hardcore, 'cause, in spite of (or maybe because of?) my absurd ability to remember and rap all lyrics written by Kanye West, I'm just not that tough. This will bring a bit toughness to my wardrobe though, and will hopefully arrive at my home in a week or so. DRUZY

Just got these babies from Etsy. I have a serious fetisch for all that glitters, and druzys are one of my favourite collectables. These are treated with titanium, which is the reason for their metallic look. If you like them, Etsy is probably the place to go, although Ebay also have some good stuff. Search for titanium druzy if you like mine, or go look at the ordinary druzys - they're also incredibly pretty.

STICKS AND STONES

Wanted to showcase one of my favourite necklaces and also this tshirt of mine. Got them both as a birthday present last year and they've been used a lot ever since. I'm normally not into tshirts with print, but this one is special, since the print is almost integrated in the fabric, which is very thin and delicate. The necklace is just to die for; I love huge pieces of jewellery that's a bit off, and this must qualify as that.

Both of them are from the brand All Saints, which is usually not at all my kind of style, but these two things stood out. Today I went to look at their site for the first time, and although I still feel like their clothes are a bit too rock-ish for me, I really, really like their jewellery. Just proves that you probably shouldn't dismiss a brand, just because you don't like their general style, as I've talked about earlier. Hope you guys are having a great weekend!

OLD PROJECTS

Not one of my most creative creations, since it mainly consists of an already made pendant, that I just customized with different pictures. Still one of my favourite pieces of jewellery though - I like the versatility, and the fact that I am able to walk around with a small window containing something beautiful and personal.

Do you like them? I love the picture of the naked woman on the lion - fragile, but strong. I don't know who's it is though, maybe you can help me? I thought of Helmut Newton, but I can't seem to find any confirmation of that.

HOW TO MAKE: CRYSTAL NECKLACE

A new "category" on this blog will be a "how to" category, mainly dealing with easy and pretty DIY's that you can (obviously) do yourself. I'm starting out with a small and old one, since I'd like to really get some good pictures of the next ones, before blogging about them. So here we go:

This one is about as easy as a pie (never really understood that idiom. Pies are not easy to make! But this still is) and you will only need a stone of your choise, some strong adhesive (preferably made for metals) and some wire. The adhesive is to make sure that the wire will stick, so start with gluing about two cm of the end of it to the stone, and you will be sure that it won't fall off. I'm not going to explain much further about the making of this, since the picture pretty much says it all, but you are welcome to ask in the comments section, if you have some questions. 

Anyhow, stay tuned for the next project; it might not be considered very "fashionable", but it's really cute!
